Frequently asked questions
Plain answers about the window, the tap, the season, and the fact that it is not for sale yet.
What is the North Pole Window?
The North Pole Window is a physical Christmas decoration: a small 3D-printed window you can set on a shelf or hang on a wall. An NFC tag in the frame opens a private web page on a compatible phone. From December 1 through Christmas Day, that page reveals a new North Pole scene each day. The journey can visit places such as the mailroom, the reindeer training grounds, the bakery, and the workshop. It is not only a view of one room.
The product is not for sale yet. This website explains the idea, shows the before-December experience, and keeps a waitlist for a planned Holiday 2026 launch.
Does it require an app?
No app is required. A parent activates the window, then anyone with a compatible phone can tap the marked NFC area. The phone opens the scene in its browser. There is no app store download and no child account.
Does the physical window need batteries?
The physical window does not use batteries. The NFC tag is passive. The phone supplies the energy for the tap and then opens the browser. The scenes themselves live on this website, so the window can come back out each Christmas without charging a frame.
What kind of phone is required?
The intended gesture is a tap with a phone that can read NFC tags on its own, which includes recent iPhones and many Android phones. The page itself is an ordinary website and works in a current mobile browser.
Background NFC reading differs by phone and operating system, and a full device list is not published yet. A parent who has the private window link can also open the page directly in a browser.
Can more than one child use it?
Yes. One window is a shared family object. Children can gather around the same tap and look together. A parent may store one optional name on the account to tell windows apart. That name is not shown when a child opens the window. The site does not create separate child profiles, and it does not ask for a child's age, birthdate, or surname.
What happens before December 1?
From November 15 through November 30, the window shows a pre-season scene: the North Pole waking up. The glass may look frosted, with distant lights and small signs that the season is beginning. Before that, through midnight on November 14, the window rests and shows a countdown toward December.
You can look at the public before-December scene on this website now. It is a demonstration, not a personalized product page.
What happens after Christmas?
December 1 through December 26 are scene images: a new view each day through Christmas, then one last scene on December 26. At midnight on December 27 the resting image returns, and it stays through midnight on November 14.
The intention is a decoration you keep and bring out again, with each December told as its own visit to the North Pole. Future seasons are still being made, so this site does not promise a specific list of later stories.
When will it be available?
The North Pole Window is not available for purchase. There is no checkout, price, or shipping date on this site. The planned launch is Holiday 2026. Joining the waitlist means you would like an email when there is real news. It does not reserve a window or place an order.
